Soul Storm by Maris Black is about an asshole music exec and the broken musician he wants to exploit. Now… Black’s books are, um, almost a kind of absurdist version of romance. Like if you want over the top, read one of her books. Soul Storm is, if I remember correctly, not quite as over the top as the rest. Although… now I’m remembering what happens at the end and, yeah, its still OTT. But not absurd in the way that the Kage series is or Smitten.

Hrm. I should’ve probably wrote this review closer to when I first listened since I really can’t remember all that much about it. So it was… ok? Pretty forgettable. And unlike the first Kage book doesn’t have any sex scenes that I found particularly hot.

The book is narrated by Peter Verbena and Bruce Cullen. And, um, I’m surprised because I don’t think I really noticed. This isn’t to say it was bad, I just didn’t notice that there were two of them.

In summation… the book was okay.
